What is ElderSafe?
The short answer — the one you can tell a friend.
It lets you prove you're a member of Ældre Sagen — without revealing your name, address, or CPR number. You check in once a day. If you forget for several days, the system alerts someone you trust. That's it.
What does ElderSafe do?
One thing: you check in every day. We call it a life signal. It takes 5 seconds. You open the app on your phone, press one button, and you're done.
Every day you check in counts as a day in your streak. After 30 consecutive days you earn a small bonus — 5 satoshis (a fraction of a krone). It's not about the money — it's about the habit. Someone knows you're okay.
If you don't check in for 24 hours, the system starts to worry. After 3 days, it sends an SMS to the contact person you've chosen. After 7 days without a life signal, the system goes into alert. No guessing — there's a plan.
What does ElderSafe not do?
ElderSafe is not a bank. It's not insurance. It's not a social network. It's not a home care service.
We do not store your name, address, or CPR number. At all. Only your membership number and the time of your last life signal. That's everything.
We do not sell your data. We do not share your information with anyone — unless a Danish court orders it, and even then it goes through a notary who verifies the court order before anything is released.
What does it cost?
Nothing for you. Your Ældre Sagen membership covers it. Each time a new member is activated, 50 kroner is allocated from the ElderSafe fund. The 50 kroner is split between operations, security, SMS messages, the notary, and a small share for the founders. You never see a bill.
The life signal itself costs 1 satoshi — about 0.00006 kroner. Less than a quarter of a postage stamp.
Who's behind it?
ElderSafe is built by 10 Danish founders, started with 50,000 kroner of their own money. No salary until the pilot is complete. No external investors pressuring us to monetize your data.
The system runs on a public blockchain (Bitcoin SV) so anyone can verify the numbers add up — the fund is public, transparent, and auditable. You don't need to understand blockchain to use ElderSafe. It's like email: you don't need to understand SMTP to send a message.
What happens if I stop?
Nothing dramatic. Your membership pauses. Your data — just your membership number and life signal history — stays in the system until you ask for it to be deleted. You can request full deletion at any time. That's your right under GDPR, and we built the system so it's technically possible from day one.
